Transylvania is a historical region in central Romania, surrounded by the Carpathian mountain range. This region is well known for its scenery landscape and its great history.

There is no hiking in this trip. This is more like a treat for the GoCarpathians community. With the chance of seeing some of the oldest fortified churches in Europe, with some of these historical sites in Transylvania listed as Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Itinerary

  • Book your flights to Bucharest for Friday

  • If you book at the same time as everyone else get a free transfer. Otherwise grab a taxi to your accomodation in Bucharest's Old Town

​

  • Saturday morning: meet your guide and the rest of the group at Izvor Park in Bucharest (guidance will be provided)

​

  • Saturday and Sunday, the Hike

​

  • You'll be back to the accomodation in Bucharest for Sunday evening and catch your flight back on Monday morning

Sleeping and eating

Friday Night: Accomodation (Hotel or AirBnb) in the Historical Old Town of Bucharest, range of pubs are restaurants for food and drinks

Saturday: Padina Chalet with its own restaurant

Sunday Evening: Back at the AirBnb in the Historical Old Town of Bucharest, range of pubs are restaurants for food and drinks

Equipment Needed

Comfortable night out clothes. There is night-out in a Club in Sighisoara


Casual Clothes. Unlike the other trips, mountain equipment is not necessary this time.
