Brasov and Postavaru Hike

Poiana Brasov is another popular destination in Transylvania, central Romania. With trails on Postavaru Mountain, ski resorts, luxury hotels, guest houses, ski shops and traditional Romanian restaurants.
Poiana Brasov was voted the most affordable European ski resort by telegraph.co.uk in 2008, and it is one of the most pristine and well preserved mountain areas in Eastern Europe (ref: http://www.poianabrasov.com)

Trip Highlights

  • Short transfer from Bucharest to Poiana Brasov

  • Cable Car ride from Brasov to Postavaru Chalet (Cabana Postavaru) and will trek downhill for a few hours

  • Resting time for a few hours in the late afternoon because the nigh hike will follow

  • On the second day (Sunday) after the breakfast (included), we will visit the City of Brasov and its main touristic objectives

  • Overnight Staying at Postavaru Chalet - Cabana Postavaru also known as Julius Römer Cottage, 1604 m altitude (5262 ft), accommodation capacity: 100 places in rooms for 2-6 places

Itinerary

  • Book your flights to Bucharest for Friday

  • If you book at the same time as everyone else get a free transfer. Otherwise grab a taxi to your accomodation in Bucharest's Old Town

​

  • Saturday morning: meet your guide and the rest of the group at Izvor Park in Bucharest (guidance will be provided)

​

  • Saturday and Sunday, the Hike

​

  • You'll be back to the accomodation in Bucharest for Sunday evening and catch your flight back on Monday morning

Sleeping and eating

Friday Night: Accomodation (Hotel or AirBnb) in the Historical Old Town of Bucharest, range of pubs are restaurants for food and drinks

Saturday: Padina Chalet with its own restaurant
